Air Odisha , the Private airline will provide air services between two major cities of Odisha – Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur soon.After conducting a trial run successfully , authorities of Air Odisha informed the media.The flight landed at 4 pm at the Jamadarpali airstrip near Sambalpur and there was a huge gathering at to witness the event.
The green signal for the flight service between the two cities has already been given by The Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Chief Flight Operation Inspector, Subodh Gangwani and Deputy Director Airworthyness, K K Majumdar of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) were present during the proving flight visit today, Air Odisha director Trideb Rout said.
The officials confirmed , the flight will be nine seater & will provide service six days (Mondays- Saturday) in a week while Sunday will be off. However, the service may be provided throughout the week later keeping in view people’s demand, he added.The passengers would have to pay a maximum of Rs 2500 for the air service. The tickets will be available online .Keeping passengers’ demand in view,the company has also planned to connect Rourkela and Jeypore towns subsequently.Two senior officials of the Directorate of Civil Aviation accompanied by two pilots and some other supporting staff came in the private chopper which landed at Rourkela and later it took off for Sambalpur as a part of the trial run.
