Barabati stadium is excluded from test venue by BCCI


Its an shocking news for the cricket fans in Odisha that Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday has excluded the historic Barabati Stadium at Cuttack in Odisha from the list of new Test cricket venue .Unfortunate and unpleasant ‘bottle missile’ nuisance committed by certain unruly spectators during the second match of the International T20 Cricket Match held on October 5 evening at Barabati .Following which the match between Team India and the Proteas (Team South Africa) had got disrupted twice for more than 50 minutes. Earlier, BCCI had slapped a show cause on the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) in the wake of the untoward development at Barabati Stadium.As per reports, BCCI has chosen five new venues as Test venues like Visakhapatnam, Ranchi, Indore, Pune and Rajkot.The list was declared at the Board’s 86th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai in which former India team captain Sourav Ganguly was appointed Chairman of the Technical Committee, replacing Anil Kumble.
